Back in River City: Your All-in-One Resource for Information About School Board Candidates

Today, Friday, June 22, 2012, Eddie interviewed Shelby County Unified School Board candidates for Districts 1 and 2 on AM 640’s Friday Viewpoint with Eddie Settles. Next week, June 29, District 3 and 4 candidates will appear at the regularly scheduled hour of 3:00 p.m. (thanks to our friends at Bott Radio Network and Don Tredway of Tredway Financial Group for providing us an extra show this month). Finally, on July 27, Eddie will interview candidates for District 5 and 6. Billy Orgel, the only candidate running in District 7, previously appeared on our show.
Eddie and I are working hard to make Back in River City the only place you’ll need to come to prepare for voting. Beginning next week, watch here for candidate interviews; their profiles, platforms and positions; plus essential election information and analysis of the issues. You will also be able to ask your district candidates questions that are most important to you. We plan to post a complete voters guide before the August 2, 2012 election (and, God willing, in time for early voting, which runs July 13-28).
We are making this commitment because, as we have said before, this election matters. We hope it marks the beginning of a new era in Greater Memphis – not just for improvements to our educational infrastructure, but an era of widespread community engagement and cooperation, passionate voter commitment to problem solving, and determination to hold all elected officials accountable.
Remember: This is our city, and these are our children.
Make it happen, Memphis!
