Join Us on the Air! Saturday KWAM 990 at 9:00 a.m.

April 25, 2013

Your new plans for Saturday morning:

join Eddie and me as we visit Charlotte Bergmann and Charles Albert Johnson’s knockout radio show at 9:00 a.m.on KWAM 990. In the few weeks “Straight Down the Line with Charlotte and Charles” has  been on the air, their guests have included Alfonzo Rachel (of ZoNation); KCarl Smith of the Frederick Douglass Republicans; Tennessee Rep. Mark White; and Emery McClendon of Project 21, a national leadership network of black conservatives. Dr. Alveda King, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s highly respected  niece, has been booked for the May 4th show. Charlotte’s extensive political contacts throughout the country promise a continuing stream of  famous and captivating guests.

So what are we doing in this venerable company? Eddie and I are famous only in our families (and some of the clan might call us “infamous.”) We will be on to discuss Back in River City and the brewing controversy over the local media’s rebuff of Dr. Ben Carson’s appearance at the University of Memphis last week. We’ll also talk about why we created Back in River City as a conversation for people who love Memphis (but not always each other).

Please listen and call in this Saturday morning, 9:00 a.m., KWAM 990. Let’s get acquainted! Share your thoughts with Charlotte and Charles, Eddie and me, and tell us what you want to read about on Back in River City.

Keep the old white-haired guy happy.
