Join Us on the Air Saturday 9:00 am!

June 15, 2013

Have your morning coffee spiked with a dash of straight talk about Memphis when Eddie and I  join Charlotte Bergmann and Charles Johnson on Straight Down the Line with Charlotte and Charles Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. on KWAM 990.

Charlotte and Charles will also welcome Vivian Berryhill, a powerhouse Memphian with a history of community service accomplishments and awards that rivals our most prominent philanthropists. When Vivian Berryhill sees a need, she wastes no time in  finding a way to fulfill it.

She is the founder of the National Coalition of Pastors’ Spouses, a network of over 2,500 African American spouses of clergy from multiple denominations. The group fosters healthy communities by disseminating information and raising awareness about health risks and diseases, while providing resources and training through local churches. She  toured Africa as a delegate on an HIV/Aidsviv_berryhill fact-finding mission headed by U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson in 2003, published the first and only African American newspaper in North Mississippi, and was instrumental in drafting the original Patient’s Bill of Rights developed by the American Hospital Association. She created and implemented the patient advocacy program at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis, retiring from the Med in 1997 after 20 years of service.

Her husband is Chester Berryhill, Jr., pastor of New Philadelphia Baptist Church in Memphis. Mrs. Berryhill has served on numerous local, state and national boards, including 100 Black Women -Memphis chapter, the Tennessee Heart Association, the Stax Foundation, and Beale St. Development Corporation.  In her spare time  (spare time????) she writes amazing music. Someone to Love Me, recorded by the Jetts, was featured on the soundtrack of the Karate Kid.

Eddie and I can’t wait to meet this dynamic lady and be again be a  part of Memphis’ most interesting and provocative radio program.

Please join us!  (If you’re reading this too late to join us live, just click here to go to  KWAM On Demand, and then click on Straight Down the Line with Charlotte and Charles.
